Freemasonry is the U.K.’s largest secular, fraternal and charitable organisation. It teaches moral lessons and self-knowledge through participation in a progression of allegorical two-part plays. The Lodge was consecrated at The Bedfordshire Masonic Centre, Kempston, Bedford on Thursday 30th March 1995 by the then Provincial Grand Master R. W. Bro. John Hindle FRCS. The sponsoring Lodge was John Hindle No. 9432 It was thought by some of the Present and Past Provincial Grand Stewards that it would be advantageous to all if they formed a Lodge which would have membership qualifications of having being appointed to the office of a Provincial Grand Steward. These ideas were discussed and gradually it became more apparent that a Lodge consisting of ‘Operavtive Masons’ would be very useful in the Province. Several preliminary meetings took place and finally the assistance of the Provincial Executive was sought who gave their blessing so the formation of this Lodge. The objects of the Lodge are to assist in the organisation and running of all the events held by the Province. It is also the idea to create a link between the younger brethren and the Province whereby hopefully they will associate the members of the Lodge as being younger Provincial Grand Officers. It is hoped that all who are appointed to the office of a Provincial Grand Steward in Future years. And of course those who have previously held the office, will wish to join this Lodge. This site has received 928 visitors since it was launched on Sunday 2nd November 2002. |
